The College of Graduate Studies was formally established by an Amiri Decree issued on 16th August, 1977. This college supervises the implementation of Kuwait University policies concerning graduate studies. It has a wide range of activities which are conducted through its academic committees and administrative units. Those activities include the review and development of rules and regulations governing graduate studies, the evaluation of current and proposed graduate programs, the processing of applications for admission to approved programs, the registration of degree and non-degree students, and the preparation of various publications needed by students, faculty members, and the public. The Graduate College is located on the second and third floor of building number KH2 in Khalidiya.

Academic System
The Annual-Credit-Hour System is only used for graduate students who are enrolled in the Private Law and Public Law programs. With regard to all other graduate programs, the Semester-Credit-Hour System is used.
Quality of Studies
Graduate programs offered at Kuwait University are periodically evaluated by internal experts and external consultants. This process is intended to ensure that the programs are of the highest possible quality and conform to internationally recognized standards. Qualified and experienced faculty members are actively involved in the teaching, supervision, and evaluation of graduate students. The review of our students’ theses by internal examiners and external referees in ultimately intended to guarantee the quality of graduates.
Research Facilities
Numerous research projects in different fields of specialization provide an important training ground for graduate students at Kuwait University. There are several well equipped modern laboratories for carrying out a wide variety of experiment. There are also advanced computing facilities which support scientific, engineering, and other research projects.
Library Facilities
University libraries are currently offering circulation, reserve, photocopying, audio-visual, and reference services. The reference services include current awareness, bibliographies, on-line search, and CD-ROM. The main libraries at Kuwait University are linked to INTERNET which provides electronic access to information around the world.
